Anzac Acrostic Poem

A N Z A C Acrostic Poem.
BY SELINA FAKASIIEIKI

All the soldiers were fighting for the future.

Never forget those who have fought in the war for us and to save our lives.

Zipped off to the Gallipoli Peninsula by boats.

A Poppy for every woman and man that have passed away.

Celebrating Anzac Day is important because important people have died.

Immersion in Room 11

Does anyone know anything thing about Bees and Pollination? Well I don't", in room 11 we have been learning about Bees and Pollination.

Most of the time people think Bees only make honey but they don't just make honey they make other things like fruit. In flowers there are a female and male parts like a stigma where pollen germinates, anther where pollen is produced and such more.

So without bees we may lose Plants that Bees pollinate. Here is a picture about the parts of a flower.

Immersion in Room 16

Today Room 11 girls had Immersion with the amazing Mr Meikle. Our job was to taste water and had to see which one was Bottled water and which one was Tap water.

I tasted option A first and it was Yuck!, and then I tasted option B and it was Horrible. So I decide that they both tasted the same and at the end the bottled water was not the best option, it was option A.

Did you know that?

  • Bottled water was made out of oil which is not sustainable

  • Bottled water is some times not clean

  • Bottled water cost 2000 times the amount that Tap water costs

I hoped you have learned something today.

Cross Country

When I arrived at the start line I felt so nervous that my Stomach was full of Butterflies. When the horn blew I ran like a cannonball.

While I was running on my third lap my Heart was beating so fast, my Throat was beginning to get dry like a scorching Desert. I sprinted up the hill and saw my Whanau house cheering for me.

When I got my third mark I sprinted the last lap. Through the gates by room 7, wiped off past the Church and sprinted throughout the whole course. Once I hit the hill I dashed like nothing to Mia and got my last mark.

"Yay" I shouted I have finished the race.

Immersion in Room 15

Yesterday Room 11 and I had Immersion in Room 15 with the Beautiful Miss Spencer. We learned about Possums, Stoat, Rabbits and Rats because they are all the animals that are Pests. We kept on talking and talking about those Pests.

A few minutes later we went our for a game called Possum Picnic. We played only for a while then Miss Spencer showed us a Possum Trap.

When she got out the Possum Trap Everyone went outside to see how the Possum Trap works. First you put the trap next to the tree, then you place a apple with cinnamon inside the trap. Next you pull the trigger to make the trap go off. Finally you wait until the next day, then you will find a possum dead inside the Trap.

Getting my cast off

After a few weeks I got my cast off my broken wrist. When it was coming off I felt like I was goanna die but I didn't. When it finally came off the Doctor asked me "Do you want to keep it" and I told the Doctor "Yes I want to keep it", and so he left it on the table and told me that I can go now. "Yay" I said and so my mum, grandma and I left the hospital and went home.
